Alexander G. Calfo is an outstanding trial lawyer with successful verdicts against some of the best trial lawyers in the Country. He is also known for his procedural savvy, exhaustive case preparation and settlement negotiation skills. Mr. Calfo's expertise is the culmination of years exclusively devoted to the defense of complex business litigation, general liability litigation and product liability cases in the automotive, heavy machinery, chemical and medical device industries. Mr. Calfo was awarded Martindale-Hubbell's highest AV-rating as a litigator and was named to Outstanding Lawyers of America Society.
In addition to conceiving, coordinating and executing aggressive, cost-effective, custom-tailored defense strategies for Yukevich Calfo & Cavanaugh clients, Mr. Calfo has contributed numerous professional articles including: "The Case for Protecting Japanese Corporate Defendants from Having to Appear in California for Deposition," published in the Journal of International Legal Strategy. He co-authored the article, “Avoid the Problems of All-Cash Negotiations – Effective Negotiation through Structured Settlements,” featured in the Defense Research Institute’s National Magazine, For the Defense, published for defense, insurance and corporate counsel, in December 2005. Mr. Calfo also wrote the Advanced Civil Discovery in California manual and conducted the seminar entitled "Keys to Successful Pre-Trial Preparation in California," in November, 2004, both for IPE. Mr. Calfo has served as a faculty member for NBI on advanced civil discovery procedures in California. His published opinions include Rinauro v. Honda Motor Co., Ltd. A 1990 graduate of Creighton University School of Law where he earned a J.D. and served on the International Moot Court Board, Mr. Calfo joined James Yukevich in 1996 following a successful stint at Bowman and Brooke, handling the defense of product liability cases.
Mr. Calfo received his B.A. from Marquette University in 1986 after spending one year at the prestigious Loyola University Rome Center of Liberal Arts where he was an honor student.
