Emily Hicks graduated magna cum laude from West Virginia University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She received her Juris Doctorate from West Virginia University in 2000, and upon her graduation, received recognition as a member of the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Ms. Hicks served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Irene M. Keeley in the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia. She was also a member of the Moot Court Board, and received the Cali Award for Academic Excellence in Business Organizations.
Ms. Hicks’ practice focuses on the defense of automobile and tire manufacturers in product liability cases. Prior to joining Yukevich Calfo & Cavanaugh in 2005, Ms. Hicks’ practice focused on commercial litigation and complex product liability matters, including the defense of the country’s largest manufacturer of private label over-the-counter drugs in nationwide pharmaceutical litigation.
Ms. Hicks is admitted to practice in the state courts of California, Nevada, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, the United States District Courts for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the Northern District of West Virginia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She is a member of the American Bar Association.
