Holiday Powell graduated cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish. While at UCLA, she was a member of the UCLA Women’s Swim Team. Ms. Powell also studied at the Center for American Politics & Public Policy in Washington, D.C., where she volunteered at the American Enterprise Institute, and abroad at the University of Granada, in Granada, Spain. Upon graduation, Ms. Powell completed a fellowship at the New Zealand Center for Strategic Studies in Wellington, New Zealand, where she authored The Road to Sovereignty in the Pacific: A Framework for Pacific Island Development Policy.
Ms. Powell received her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in 2006. At Loyola, she was a member of the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review. Additionally, she volunteered at LAMBDA Legal Defense & Education Fund, where she assisted clients in the areas of sexual and gender discrimination. She also worked at the California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General. Ms. Powell was awarded the Loyola Law School Public Interest Scholarship and received Top Honors in Legal Research & Writing. She joined Yukevich Calfo & Cavanaugh in September of 2006, where she practices in the area of products liability defense.
